Tom Dwyer - age 34, established his photography business in a small rented apartment in West Hazleton, Pennsylvania in 1992. Over time, Dwyer’s Photography has grown to one of the largest and best studios in Northeast Pennsylvania.

Tom is a charter member of WPPI - Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, the Northeast Pennsylvania Professional Photographers Association, The Photo Professionals Forum on CompuServe. His work has won many awards and has frequently appeared in print. He is treasurer for the Beaver Brook Association (1995 – present) and was hired to manage the installation of the new water distribution system that was installed in the town in 1999. Tom is also member and officer (Esteemed Loyal Knight) at the Hazleton Elks Lodge #200.

Tom’s interest in photography grew out of his studies during his high school years in his hometown of Hazleton, Pennsylvania. (Go Mounts!) His teacher (Nick St. Mary) coaxed him to get the money for his first serious camera, a Cannon A-1 and a C330. After seeing the work of graduates of Antonelli Institute of Art & Photography, Tom made the decision to complete his schooling in the Philadelphia area. He graduated from Antonelli in 1987.

Tom lives in Beaver Brook, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Donna, who is a nurse. They share their home with two dogs -- boo, a black lab mix, and Marlynn, a Jack Russell Terrier (named after back to back Daytona 500 champion Sterling Marlin, now driving the #40 car in Nascar). Kids? Not yet, but "one on the way!"

Since they live in an old coal-mining town of only 52 units, they occasionally get the question, “WHY” did we choose to live here? Simple, This small town has great history (if it were not for coal mining towns like Beaver Brook, the Hazleton area would not exist) and it’s mostly quiet.. :)

Another reason is because we are just two miles off interstate 81 (exit 39A - see DIRECTIONS LINK) and just off route 309... BUT MOSTLY, it is because Tom grew up here and remembers when kids did fun things like play army, baseball, basketball and millions of other great games OUTSIDE and away from a computer! : )

Today Tom continues to specialize in wedding/portrait photography working primarily near his home in northeast Pennsylvania, he will travel if asked. If you have any questions you can reach Tom by by hitting the "Contact Us" button on this page. We look forward to hearing from you!
